Michael Watson este un campion WPT. Jucatorul, cunoscut mai mult sub pseudonimul SirWatts, nick-ul pe care il foloseste online, a castigat main eventul $15,000 NLH Bellagio Cup IV. Victoria din vara lui 2008 i-au adus $1,673,770.

Canadianul si-a inceput cariera online ca si jucator high stakes cash-game. Unul dintre cele mai importante momente ale carierei sale a avut loc in 2011 cand a castigat 7-game Full Tilt Online Poker Series event.

Watson a incasat la primul sau turneu live in August 2006 cand a ajuns la masa finala a $1,000 NLH Bellagio daily tournament clasandu-se pe locul 6 si castigand $7,600.

In 2007 Watson a intrat in bani de 5 ori la WSOP. Cel mai departe ca si clasare in acel an la WSOP a mers in eventul $1,500 PLO Hi/Lo Split EOB unde a terminat pe locul zece si a castigat $9,049. Suma totala pe care Watson a castigat-o in cele sase saptamani de turnee a fost doar putin peste $30,000.

In Februarie 2008 Watson a ratat  sansa de a face prima sa masa finala televizata la WPT, cand fost eliminat pe locul 10 la evenimentul  $10,000 NLH L.A. Poker Classic, loc , care i-a adus si suma de $61,610.

 In Iulie 2008 Watson a devenit campion WPT, a batut un field de 446 de jucatori la main eventul $15,000 NLH Bellagio Cup IV si a facut prima incasare ce a depasit $1 milion. Watson a incasat $1,673,770 invingandu-l la heads up pe Benyamine David. In vara urmatoare la Bellagio Cup V, Watson a castigat un event preliminar, $3,000 NLH tournament si suma de $140,625.

In Ianuarie 2010 Watson  a obtinut locul 1 la A$1,000 NLH event la Aussie Millions Poker Championships in Melbourne. Aceasta victorie i-a adus lui Watson suma de A$129,920. De asemenea in acelasi festival Watson a mai facut o masa finala la eventul A$10,000 PLO fiind eliminat pe locul 3 si castigand suma de A$35,000. De asemenea tot in Australia a mai participat la masa finala a evenimentului A$10,000 H.O.R.S.E. unde pentru clasarea pe locul 5 a castigat suma de A$21,600.

Inainte de a se reantoarce in Australia pentru seria de turnee din 2011 Watson a mai participat la finala unui turneu de poker in Canada, unde a fost runner up la C$2,350 NLH event  de la Fallsview Poker Classic castigand suma de C$141,694. Dupa aceasta isprava Watson a mers la Aussie Millions Poker Championship unde a intrat in bani de 4 ori inclusiv la masa finala a A$10,000 8-game event, unde clasarea pe locul 5 i-a adus A$20,000.

In February 2008 Watson narrowly missed making his first televised WPT final table. He was eliminated in tenth place in the $10,000 NLH L.A. Poker Classic. Watson’s deep run in the 665 player event was good for a $61,610 payday.

Watson became a WPT champion in July 2008. He took down the 446-entrant $15,000 NLH main event at the Bellagio Cup IV and earned his first payday in excess of a million dollars. Watson pocketed $1,673,770 for defeating David Benyamine heads up. The following summer, at the Bellagio Cup V, Watson won a preliminary event. He took down the $3,000 NLH tournament and earned $140,625.

In January 2010 Watson claimed first place in a A$1,000 NLH event at the Aussie Millions Poker Championships in Melbourne. He earned A$129,920 for his victory down under. Watson went on to make the final table of the A$10,000 PLO event at the same tournament series. He was eliminated in third place and pocketed A$35,000. While in Australia Watson also made the final table of the A$10,000 H.O.R.S.E. tournament. He earned A$21,600 for his fifth place finish.

Before heading back to Australia for the tournament series in 2011 Watson made a big final in his native Canada. He was the runner up in the C$2,350 NLH event of the Fallsview Poker Classic and earned C$141,694. Then it was off to Melbourne for the Aussie Millions Poker Championship. Watson cashed four times including making a final table in the A$10,000 8-game event. His fifth place finish was worth A$20,000.
